Working as part of a growing service and maintenance team, the successful candidate will have a background in mechanical and electrical servicing. Ideally with working knowledge of pumps, piping, valves, and control systems in the water industry, the candidate will be able to demonstrate a good level of previous experience and expertise in the following:

Primary Duties: 
The role involves travelling to client sites, both clean water and waste water sites, to carry out servicing, reactive maintenance, repairs and replacement on pumps, plant and chemical dosing equipment.
Conduct site surveys to assist with commercial proposal generation.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a reactive response, to customer request demonstrating a flexible and pragmatic approach to solve customer problems.
  • Build personal, sustainable and robust customer relationships.
  • Adhere to company and client requirements for safe systems of work to the highest standards at all times. (Demonstrating lone working best practice on unmanned remote site).
  • Keep comprehensive records in order to document work carried out and to allow correct billing of service and parts to client.
  • Safely carry out mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Demonstrate competency to work on chemical dosing systems and equipment and working on customer sites by achieving and maintaining accredited standards e.g. Confined space; Working at height; Chemical safety and Electrical 17th edition.
  • Demonstrate logical thought and follow process documentation to quickly identify fault and correct root cause.
  • Configure, calibrate, repair and adjust a range of WES and 3rd party equipment on customer’s sites to achieve optimum performance. This includes; pumps, valves, pipework, controllers, sample monitors and systems. Report findings directly with the client and report back to WES in a timely and realistic manner.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Flexible working may be required as some jobs require overnight stays or working outside of normal hours to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Train others, including client operators and staff to use WES and other 3rd party equipment such as plc, chemical monitors and bespoke equipment.
  • Collaborate with the wider WES team to share product and customer information.

Personal Attributes:

  • Equally happy working on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Electrical qualification, either 17th Edition or JIB card or CSCS card
  • Prepared to attend training in order to achieve relevant certification to attend client sites
  • Strong communication skills that build sustainable customer relationships
  • Able to work unsupervised

  • Flexible start and finish times so that client problems can whenever possible be resolved in one visit

Working safely and to a high standard, the Site Electrician is responsible for electrical installation and testing of a wide range of chemical dosing equipment. WES team members work flexibly and some mechanical fitting skills would be advantageous. The work will be on both clean and waste water sites.

  • Ensure that all electrical, instrumentation and control installations are installed, tested and commissioned to current British or Customer Standards.
  • To complete and comply with all Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Safety Instructions and to use all equipment provided in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To work collaboratively with team members, departments, customers and suppliers to ensure that information, expertise and requirements are communicated effectively, issues resolved and operability of systems optimised.
  • Maintain knowledge of advances in technology and materials and identify improvement opportunities

Essential qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2360 Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent qualification in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations)
  • City & Guilds 2382-15 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Minimum 3 years electrical installation experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of a range of chemical dosing equipment, working to a high level of detail and quality to ensure the company’s standards are maintained.

Mechanical Engineering experience is preferred.

Key elements of the job description:

  • Ensure that all mechanical installations carried out comply with required standards, policies and statutory regulations in respect to health & safety.
  • Ensure that all mechanical installations are installed, tested and commissioned to current British or Client determined Standards.
  • Ensure excellent workmanship and industry best practice is adopted to ensure a “right first time” approach to the Installation of mechanical installations; to maintain quality whilst adhering to programmed hours and material expenditure.
  • To both complete and comply with all Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Safety Instructions and to use all equipment provided in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To complete all required documentation, including time sheets and daily work record sheets appropriately and on time.
  • To work collaboratively with other team members, departments, customers and suppliers to ensure that information, expertise and requirements are communicated effectively, issues resolved, and operability of systems optimised.
  • To perform all other reasonable requirements of this position as may be expected or requested generally as an employee of the Company.

As this is a field-based role (clean water and waste water sites), there is a requirement to travel to a from various client sites, for which a van is provided. In addition, there will be an occasional requirement to work away; overnight accommodation will be organised by the business when this is required.

This is a specialist engineering position requiring a good knowledge and understanding of statutory and customer electrical system requirements and specifications as used in the water, utility and process industries. The successful applicant will act as Nominated Representative in regard of WES ECA Accreditation.

  • Prepare detailed electrical designs from project specifications, P&IDs and Functional Design Specifications (FDS) etc., in accordance with statutory and WES QA requirements.
  • Specify electrical designs by preparing and controlling documentation including but not limited to:
  • Circuit, block, field wiring and associated drawings and diagrams
  • Electrical system calculations
  • Cable schedules
  • Drawings and schedules as required to integrate WES systems into client systems
  • Component and equipment specifications
  • Job Packs to instruct Workshop and Site teams
  • Estimate the cost of electrical systems and components to support contract tendering and cost control for in house and third-party options.
  • Create purchasing and/or build specifications and designs for electrical systems and panels using typical water utility/WIMES standards etc.
  • Create BOMs to undertake and/or facilitate the purchasing of bulk materials.
  • Specify and implement QA and testing plans for electrical system build and installation including Electrical Installation Certificates.
  • Implement QA and testing plans for functional and Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Work in accordance with WES project management procedures, ensuring HSEQ compliance and the application of robust design principles and sound engineering practice.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Min completed apprenticeship
  • BS7671 Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
  • Level 4 Design & Verification of Electrical Installations
  • CAD (AutoCAD pref)
  • Driving Licence

Desirable

  • HNC or equivalent Electrical Engineering

Primary Duties: 
Sell and Manage the Sales Process of the WES Dosing Products (DP) division.

Define, agree and implement appropriate activities, policies and marketing initiatives to develop and grow DP division in line with the current plan.

The role will be based mainly at Head Office but will require some travel to visit customers

Responsibilities: 

Business Development and Marketing

  • Achieve the agreed goals and actions set out in the Marketing Plan(s).
  • Develop & implement strategies and actions to drive DP order growth and achieve gross profit in line with plan. Report monthly on performance
  • Client visits – both proactive to create/develop business, & reactive to enquiries
  • Maintain the wesdp.com website to generate more enquiries. Generate news releases (website, LinkedIn, Twitter, mailshots) and ad campaigns to increase the DP market presence. Assess effectiveness (e.g. no. of new leads received, google analytics)
  • Periodically analyse performance and customer satisfaction, to inform the plan
  • Keep up to date with general advances in technology, industry best practice & competitors in order to react to threats/opportunities

Enquiry handling

  • Generate proposals in response to WES DP product enquiries and pursue through to order and delivery. Provide DP product proposal support to the other WES divisions
  • Manage processes, including stocking policy, to ensure timely completion of orders
  • Maintain enquiry & products database records including part and serial numbers
  • Review operational processes and software (Sage, SharePoint, Magento) & recommend changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and business integration

Product portfolio

  • Act as a product expert and knowledge holder for DP 3rd Party Products, providing technical expertise to internal & external clients. Own the documentation for product selection and specification, ensuring it is consistent, complete and current
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with key suppliers
  • Actively develop & extend DP product portfolio, both 3rd Party and WES, to support the plan
  • Pro-actively engage with colleagues to standardise WES products, suitable for DP

Primary Duties: 
Responsible for managing assigned projects from client order to contractual completion in terms of quality, cost and time.  Also responsible for managing projects in accordance with WES project management procedures, ensuring HSEQ compliance, and for the application of robust design principles and sound engineering practice.

Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret WES proposals & client specifications to ensure clear definition of projects
  • Prepare & maintains QA Plans (Sharepoint) and project programmes (Microsoft Project)
  • Design systems developing P&IDs, specifications, detail drawings & test documentation
  • Ensure robust design & engineering standards by conducting design risk assessments and following design approval procedures
  • Identify material requirements using equipment, instrument and valve lists and BOMs
  • Procure materials using purchase requisitions and purchase orders (or assigns procurement to workshop or site teams) and ensure effective cost/quality balance
  • Prepare workshop and site job packs to facilitate efficient build and installation
  • Ensure implementation and documentation of testing including FAT, QA inspections, SAT and commissioning; liaise with client when witnessed testing is required
  • Prepare and issue O&M and training manuals. Arrange and/or deliver operator training
  • Control and report on progress (quality, cost and time); communicating with clients, suppliers and within WES (sales, engineering, workshop and site) throughout each project
  • Comply with contractual requirements including timely payment applications, notices, submissions and variation orders
  • Support the development of engineering procedures and practices and the development and standardisation of products and systems

Personal Attributes:

  • Appropriate mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Engineering project management experience.
    Experience to include liquid systems with pumps, pipes, valves, instrumentation, control.
  • Working knowledge of various conditions of contract

Ideal:

  • Electrical experience
  • Knowledge of chemicals typically used in water treatment and associated material compatibility and design considerations.
