Encouraged by another year of expansion and success, we have seen 20% growth in 2018 and are set to support the water industry deliver throughout the next AMP7, as our business expands in both wastewater and drinking water.
We have achieved a third consecutive year of strong growth. In line with our formal business growth plan, we’ve expanded all four of our divisions in 2018: Chemical Dosing Systems and Projects; Chemical Dosing Products; Servicing and Installation; and Equipment Hire.
In particular, our chemical dosing equipment hire options have offered alternative solutions and an ethos that has had impressive growth throughout 2018. Hiring avoids the need for capital expenditure for utilities, on new dosing systems and instead reduces the cost to a relatively low monthly payment under their operating expenditure budget.
We see the growing chemical dosing system hire business as a good illustration of its commitment and ability to do whatever it takes to solve customers’ problems. Originally set up for flexibility to deal with plant shutdowns for planned maintenance, refurbishments, upgrades and other modifications, it answers many other short- and medium-term challenges. These include emergency situations, temporary increases in system demand, and testing of new treatment strategies.
As part of that long-term plan, we recently appointed Jamie Cole to the newly created role of Operations Director. He brought with him a wealth of relevant experience, gained in senior management positions within leading utility companies and major construction groups.
Last year, we expanded our main depot to create extra space for what is already the UK’s largest chemical dosing equipment hire fleet. Both the number and variety of mobile systems available increased, offering a choice of larger chemical storage tanks for applications.
While our hire equipment is intended for immediate mobilisation nationally, the focus for continuous expansion of other activities in 2018 has been our South and South East heartland. There are also plans to grow the business in East Anglia, the Midlands and Wales.
We were also awarded a Lot 2 Chemical Dosing Framework Agreement by Thames Water, in 2018. WES Sales and Marketing Director Dick Tett says: “We have worked with Thames Water over many years and have proved our willingness to innovate and collaborate.
“We also offer compliant products with strong after-sales support and fast response times. Looking at the industry more widely, we hope many others will seek our specialist support to maximise efficiencies in AMP7.”
